今夜，月光迷濛，星子隱遁在後山的靜謐裡。我忽然想起一位遠方的朋友，遂而重讀了他的一本贈書。

如果說，今年八十三歲的彭正雄著作的《出版人瑣記》是極其一生最重要的作品之一，這樣的說法並不過分。因為，彭老勤奮向上的背影，是我寫作的動力，也是學習的楷模。

除了讚佩其創立屆滿一甲子的「文史哲出版社」所賦予此書具有深刻的意義外，我想從中揀一件至今讓我難以忘懷的故事，來寫寫他如何走過烽火邊緣，成為一位傑出的出版家，榮獲教育評鑑中心大學院系所評鑑委員（二OO六年）、臺灣出版協會副理事長、中國文藝獎章等殊榮，以及他通過回憶而獲得對本身生存與使命感的再認識。

誠如彭老自己在書中稱，他曾在金門服役時，適逢「六一七、六一九砲戰」，因參與此戰，造成聽力受損等後遺症，卻欣慰於自己能留下此一光榮印記。此段故事讀來自然親切、如臨其境，也不難看出他試圖從寫作中表現潛力。

作為出版家，彭老一直關注臺灣出版業變遷，並借此書進行表達及闡釋了平版印刷、書籍印製的專業知識與兩岸出版交流等主題，使其論述更具有象徵意義，內容豐富、文字平實貼切。

此書所界定的重要概念，其內涵就是出版的經驗；而透過他的文字裡，都清晰地浮現彭先生從年輕到晚年一生勤勉自學與勇毅的精神。因而，可以說，這本書是他作品和勤學有成有機組成的一部分；而其編輯手法的運用，走過歲月的艱辛，也為他成為出版家奠定成功的基石。

對我來說，彭先生長久以來，把出版優秀的著作當作人生第一要務，為人恭謹樸素。此書流露了作者的幽默與出版同樣的才華和智慧，我也為彭先生為人謙遜的態度與孜孜不倦的精神而深感佩服。

所以閱讀一本書，實際上是要喚起讀者心中的情，或是感動；而讀一本好書，就是能讓人增長知識，如同音樂，能給人帶來愉悅的聲音。
